Nemanja Milenković, born on October 6, 1977, in Novi Sad, is the director of the foundation "Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture." With a rich career spanning nearly three decades, he has established himself as an expert in branding.

He holds a degree in history from the Faculty of Philosophy and a master's degree in industrial management, specializing in media management, from the Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Novi Sad. Currently, he is working on his doctoral dissertation in the field of tourism and rebranding at the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Novi Sad.

Nemanja gained practical knowledge in branding through his work, ranging from small start-ups to large corporations in the private and public sectors, including trade, education, culture, and creative industries (media, festivals, advertising).

In the past decade, he has dedicated himself successfully to destination branding, particularly focusing on his hometown. In collaboration with various teams, he brought six prestigious European awards to Novi Sad, including the title of European Capital of Culture awarded by the European Commission and the Melina Merkouri Award given to the most successful cities in implementing this project. As the director of the "Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture" foundation, he received recognition for the best European cultural trend brand. While serving as the president of the EXIT foundation, he initiated and led the candidacy for the European Youth Capital, which the city also won. As the president of the Board of Directors of the EXIT festival, he secured two titles for the best European music festival.

As a result of his efforts, the renowned travel website Lonely Planet positioned Novi Sad among the top three world destinations in 2019. By 2022, Novi Sad won the "Golden Apple" awarded by the World Federation of Tourism Journalists and Writers.

International media outlets such as BBC, Independent, Euronews, The Guardian, ARTE TV, and others have reported on the brands he created, including the unique New Year's celebration "Doček," the significant cultural showcase "Kaleidoskop kulture," the creative district, and the network of cultural stations—renewed neighborhoods that have become new brand landmarks of the city.

Nemanja, as a consultant in Serbia, Southeastern, and Western Europe, has represented his knowledge and experience in destination branding worldwide, including cities like Tokyo, London, Berlin, Zagreb, Dresden, Sarajevo, Kaunas, Nizhny Novgorod, and Brussels.

Developing his unique brand development methodology through neurological levels, he is a certified NLP and PEAT trainer.

In his pursuit of new inspirations, Nemanja finds them in reading and traveling. He lives and works in Novi Sad, is married, and has two daughters.
