Nela Tonković is an art historian with a Master's degree in Cultural Policy and Management. From 2013 to 2018, she served as the director of the Contemporary Gallery Subotica, and from 2019 to 2020, she held the position of director at the National Museum in Šabac. Currently, she works as a curator at the Contemporary Gallery Subotica, responsible for planning the annual program of the gallery. In her curatorial work, she has collaborated with numerous visual artists from Serbia and the region, as well as with various gallery institutions.
A significant part of her interests is focused on researching the logic and policies of acquiring public collections of contemporary art, as well as exhibitions as a communication tool. Nela Tonković is a member of ICOM Serbia (International Council of Museums - National Committee of Serbia).
