Maja was born in 1980 in Belgrade. She began her musical journey early, during elementary school. Her first active participation as a bass guitarist was in the band Mind Snare, followed by joining the Belgrade alternative punk scene with the band SOS.
In 1998, she founded her band E-PLAY, where she actively engages as an instrumentalist, vocalist, lyricist, composer, and arranger. E-PLAY has released five studio albums and several compilations, collaborating with numerous musicians from Serbia and the region. Maja is a member of the Association of Jazz, Pop, and Rock Musicians of Serbia and earned artist status in 2015.
With a wealth of festival and concert performances in Serbia and the region, E-PLAY also performs internationally, with a notable concert in front of the Serbian Cultural Center in Paris. Since 2017, Maja has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Jazz, Pop, and Rock Musicians of Serbia, and since 2021, a member of the Board of Directors of the Organization for Collective Management of Performers' Rights (PI).
After releasing the first album, she collaborated with various bands. Maja composed the song 'Urban,' used as the promotional song for the Urban Demo Fest 2001. She toured Poland with Darkwood Dub in 2000, substituting for their bassist Miki Ristić. On E-PLAY's second album, she collaborated with Saša Lokner (Bajaga i Instruktori), Kojot (Eyesburn), and Čvare (Overdrive). For the fourth album, E-PLAY collaborated with pianist Matija Dedić. In 2021, the band released the song 'Hotel Jugoslavija' with Bajaga.
E-PLAY's music is part of the soundtracks for the films 'Munje' and 'Potraga za srećkom.' As a longtime collaborator with fashion designer Jelena Vujanović, Maja has composed music for fashion shows at LA Fashion Week, Berlin Fashion Week, and Belgrade Fashion Week.
She composed the theme song for the TV show 'Bunt' on RTS. Maja has been a longstanding member of the jury for the first television festival competition, Bunt Rock Festival on RTS. During the pandemic, E-PLAY received the award for the song of the year, 'Sloboda,' for which Maja is the complete author. In 2021, the band received the BUNT RTS award for the song 'Hotel Jugoslavija' with Bajaga. In 2022, they received a plaque from the concert agency Front in Sarajevo for their contribution to music. Maja also received an award for her contribution to music from the Studentski Grad Cultural Center.
In addition to her musical endeavors, Maja successfully promotes music festivals, individual concerts, and musical events. She has participated in numerous music conferences as a moderator and speaker.
