Goran Despotovski (1972) graduated from the Higher School of Fine and Applied Arts in Belgrade (1995). He completed his undergraduate studies in painting at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad (1999) and obtained a master's degree in painting (2003). In 2018, he earned the title of Doctor of Arts in Fine Arts. He has been employed at the same academy since 2004 and was appointed as a full professor in the field of Painting in 2019. Despotovski also serves as the President of the Association of Fine Artists of Vojvodina since 2017.
He has exhibited in sixty-five solo and numerous group exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Goran Despotovski has received multiple awards in the field of visual arts. He is the author of several projects within the Association of Fine Arts of Vojvodina, including "Differences" (2005–), "Image" (2011–), "Book" (2016), and "Digital Image Space" (2016). Additionally, he has contributed to projects within the Association of Fine and Applied Arts in Novi Sad, such as "SMIC: Mobile Form" (2019–), "Shift in Code" (2022–), among others.
